Running through a battle environment killing teens while a global audience watches in glee doesn’t (one hopes) have much in common with the world we live in. But Jennifer Lawrence — who of course plays Katniss Everdeen in said environment’s “Hunger Games” — thinks the film’s sequel will offer a certain verisimilitude.
“The new movie will be very real, which is what I’m excited about,” she told 24 Frames of “Catching Fire,” which Francis Lawrence will direct. “I really like his take, which is a lot of what I liked in Gary Ross,” she added. “It’s the realistic grasp of the story instead of all the details of the imaginary things.”
Lawrence said she’s met with the director and believes that, overall, he’s trying to continue what Ross started with his adaptation of the first book in the Suzanne Collins’ series. “He’s not trying to reinvent anything,” she said.
The actress begins shooting “Catching Fire” in the fall, with the movie set for a November 2013 release. In the meantime, the Oscar nominee will be seen as the object of other men’s affections.
She recently wrapped “Serena,” a romantic drama set in Depression-era North Carolina in which she plays Serena Pemberton, a not-exactly-sympathetic wife to a timber magnate (Bradley Cooper) as well as the object of another man’s (Rhys Ifans’) affections — a man who it should be said gets violent when things don’t go his way. Lawrence described the plot as “kind of a messed-up love story.” Directed by Susanne Bier and produced by Mark Cuban’s 2929 Prods., the film does not yet have U.S. distribution.
Lawrence, who with her previous roles has mostly stayed in modern (or future) times, said she found the period setting an adjustment.
“If you’re wearing high heels, you feel more posh,’ she said. “It changes everything, even the way you move your body.”
But Lawrence also thought “Serena” a relief after the righteous heroines of “The Hunger Games” and breakout “Winter’s Bone.”
“It’s nice not to have to make excuses for your character, not to always try to rationalize something,” she said. “There’s something totally liberating about dancing around the room just clawing away.”

Katniss Everdeen is a hero in real life, too!
The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence saved the day on Monday when she rushed to help an ailing woman in Santa Monica, Calif.
Local police told E! News they received a 911 call at 6:49 p.m. about a woman who had passed out, possibly from alcohol, outside an apartment complex. Although it wasn’t Lawrence who placed the call, police confirmed the Oscar nominee was with the sick woman and stayed with her until paramedics arrived.
Lawrence calmly assisted the woman who was sprawled out on the grass. Wearing flip-flops, gray sweatpants and a tank top, the actress got down on the ground as she kindly waited with the woman in need of medical assistance.
Several police officers came to the rescue as well.
Way to make District 12 (and Hollywood) proud!

OMG, check out that horrid face on Jennifer Lawrence. I sure hope no one slaps her on the back when she makes that face, it could get stuck! At least that’s what parents tell their kids. I wonder how long Jen practiced that face in her bathroom mirror before deciding to give the paparazzi a taste of her scary monster face.

Jennifer Lawrence was caught by the paparazzi while she was out entertaining a friend. Jennifer was wearing some sexy black jeans, an adorable white top and a tan bowler hat. According to sources Ms. Lawrence visiting the ATM yet again to spend some of that hard earned money from “The Hunger Games”. Jen promptly spent that cash for lunch on the beach at Shutters.

I just can’t wait until The Hunger Games is released for us to enjoy in the privacy of our own home! I know I will be enjoying the film on my big screen tv with surround sound!
The Hunger Games will be released on home entertainment platforms in the UK in September.
Lionsgate UK revealed that the film will be available on 2-disc DVD, 2-disc Blu-ray, TVOD and digital download starting on September 3.
“We are incredibly excited to bring the Hunger Games experience to UK homes this autumn,” said Nicola Pearcey, Managing Director, Home Entertainment and New Media.
“This is far and away the biggest home entertainment launch in Lionsgate’s history and, further to the success of the theatrical box office, our home entertainment launch will involve a highly innovative and integrated digital and packaged media rollout which will be unveiled in the weeks ahead.
“Particularly exciting is the availability of the 15 cert cut of the film on the Blu-ray, which was unseen in UK cinemas.”
Fans of the film can pre-order their copies from June 15. The 2-disc DVD and Blu-ray feature over three hours of bonus features, including an eight-part documentary on the making of the movie.
The Hunger Games DVD and Blu-ray will be available on August 18 in the US.
The sequel, titled The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, will open in cinemas in the US and the UK on November 22, 2013.
The original has currently grossed almost $650 million (£420m) at the global box office

Jennifer Lawrence’s long sexy legs look so beautiful in the paparazzi photos snapped while she went to have a pedicure. A few of them may even be considered almost “up skirt photos”. Jennifer has been a very modest celebrity so far in her career when compare to past stars like Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and other wild child stars that have been known for flashing such candid areas while hitting up the town.
